Timely cleaning
Rinse with clean water immediately after use to prevent residual liquid from breeding bacteria. Wipe the inner wall and suction nozzle with dishwashing detergent and soft sponge.
Brushing tool assisted cleaning
A water jug with smaller openings can be thoroughly cleaned with a long-handled bottle brush, paying special attention to stains at the threaded interface.
Cup lid and sealing ring treatment
Squeeze the dish soap into the gap of the cup lid, press the nozzle to make the liquid flow out, then use a cotton swab to clean the groove of the sealing ring, and use a toothbrush to clean the inside of the straw, remove the sealing ring and clean it separately.
2. Deep cleaning method
White vinegar descaling method
Pour in undiluted white vinegar into the water jugs and gallon, soak for more than 2 hours, shake it, and rinse it with clean water to remove scale and odor.
Citrate/Baking Soda Decontamination
Take 5g of baking soda or citric acid and dissolve it in 50ml of hot water, pour it into a water jug and shake it and soak it for 12 hours to decompose stubborn stains.
Rice friction method
Add rice, dishwashing liquid and a small amount of water, shake vigorously for 5 minutes, and use particle friction to remove moss and sticky substances.
Special scene processing
Mold spot oxidation: Soak the food-grade sodium percarbonate solution for 20 minutes, and treat the ultraviolet disinfection cabinet for 30 minutes.
Extinguishing of odor: Soak with boiling water and lemon slices for 1 hour, or wipe the inner wall with 75% alcohol and ventilate and dry
3. Treatment of stubborn stains
Special cleaning agent soaking: Use food-grade scale cleaning agent as directed and rinse thoroughly after soaking for 12 hours.
UV disinfection: After cleaning, place it in the sun for 4-6 hours, use ultraviolet rays to sterilize and accelerate drying.
4. Things to note
Disable steel wool balls or hard tools to avoid scratching the inner wall and causing dirt.
High temperature resistant materials (such as PP) can be boiled and disinfected. Ordinary PET materials are recommended to steam treatment below 70℃
Clean deeply at least once a week. Long-term storage requires complete drying and disassembly of sealing parts to prevent mold spots from occurring.
Regularly disassemble separable parts (such as straws, seals) and wash them separately.
By combining daily maintenance with periodic deep cleaning, the service life of sports water jugs and large gallon can be effectively extended and hygiene and safety can be ensured.
If there are cracks or severe discoloration in the pot, it is recommended to replace the new pot to ensure hygiene and safety.
